I managed to finish all the grading early afternoon yesterday and got to spend the evening watching Doctor Who with Jack and Lucy, before an early night. I got all the grades posted onto the system by lunchtime today.

I've gone through all my notifications and my inbox is zero. I think I'm getting the hang of the commenting thing. Sometimes I still feel a bit awkward and over-think what I'm saying but I suspect this is mostly going to be an experience/practice thing and it'll get easier the more I do it. That's what I'm hoping at least.

Now all I have to do is catch up on my reading page. Wish me luck?

I would have liked a breakdown of the genres and authors that I read the most as well - does anyone who uses Goodreads know if I can find this information at all?

And I know a lot of my new friends have mentioned they are interested in the poly and BDSM aspects of my life so if there's anything you'd like to ask me about that, please do

I'm curious to know if you were hate!reading 50 Shades? I have several friends who are into BDSM who have read the first one and have opinions about it.

Do you have an entry somewhere that's "oh, hai, you're new to this whole thing, here's the contours of how the relationships work." that I can go and read, rather than pestering you about things you've probably have answered one hundred quadrillion times already?

I haven't used Goodreads in ages. I always felt awkwardly pressured to review books on there, which I don't like doing. 1005 pages for Jonathan Strange..? It felt much longer to me. I think it was all of the subscript at the bottom. Did you watch the mini-series too?

Oh man, I always overthink it when I leave a comment on someone's entry because I keep overthinking it and wondering if it's too excessive/unnecessary.

And damn you've read a lot of books this year. I'm mostly relying on audiobooks now (since I don't really have time to sit down to read anymore) and I'm on a roll if I get through three a month. Just out of curiosity, have you read any books aside from Fifty Shades Freed that got movie adaptions this year? (a la Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor, Love Simon, Annihilation, etc.)

I feel you on the awkward comments front! I'm doing my best to just go for it despite wanting to disappear in embarrassment every time I hit "post comment"....

I really wish I could say I was. I don't want to like the books but... Well, One the one hand, yes the BDSM is appalling and they're very poorly written. On the other hand, I love trashy romance stories, love the cliche of the storyline (who doesn't want to be whisked away by an infatuated billionaire?!) and some of the scenes ticked quite a lot of my buttons.

Ooh good question. Probably I Heart Forever by Lindsey Kelk. It made me cry big soppy tears of joy <3

I tend to average around 60-65 books a year, just over one a week. I'm very much a speed reader, have been since childhood. It always annoyed my brother, which made it an even more fun skill to have! ;)

Shopaholic was made into a movie a few years ago, I re-read that series this year. Stephen King's 11.22.63 was made into a mini-series and so was Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I didn't know Annihilation was based on a book, I enjoyed that movie so I'm going to have to investigate that, thank you!
