Well, the friending communities are certainly all a frenzy at the moment with the influx of people coming over from Tumblr. Looks like I picked a good time to start attempting the blogging thing again.

Not that I ever used it much, but I deleted my Tumblr earlier this evening. They have every right to manage the content on their service, but I don’t have to agree with ridiculous, arbitrary, sexist, and parochial standards.

Jack won 'best husband' award this afternoon appearing at my office door with flowers and then taking me out to lunch. A naughty glass of wine and pulled pork sub was exactly what my lunchtime needed and seeing him always brightens the day. He's still using the cane but he's moving much better than he was last week. You can definitely tell he's feeling better - he's bored sitting around at home all day!

Pasta is currently simmering away and I've got no plans for this evening. There's a cat trying to get my attention, batting at my hands as I type.

Speaking of cats, I read this article the other day that claims - and I wish I was joking - that owning a cat contributes to people being aroused by sadomasochism because they've contracted toxoplasmosis, which is 'linked to sexual arousal by fear, violence and danger in humans'. Yes, that's right, we're kinky because we have a brain parasite caused by cat faeces.

Please excuse me while I have a moment of hysterical laughter. There was me thinking I got into BDSM because my husband (ok, he wasn't my husband at the time but nevertheless) asked me to spank him, because he knew it turned him on - something he'd known since his teens. Turned out it was something I really enjoyed - although I've always owned cats. And he'd never owned one until we moved in together.

Repeat after me - correlation is not causation.
Although, in the interest of fairness, I haven't clicked through to read the actual study in the Journal of Evolutionary Psychology, only the article that refers to it.

But, of course, there has to be something wrong with us to enjoy kinky sex. (And I wish I had an eye-rolling smiley gif to put here!)

I noticed that too. I have to scroll quite ways to to reach an actual post from my mutuals on here due to the tumblr migration. However, I do suspect, that like last time, the tumblr folks won't stick around, since they are so accustomed to the note count and feedback crack that they won't have fulfilled here. Plus, written words, and the ability to read and comprehend them fully, seem to be a completely foreign concept for many of them.

I won't be deleting my tumblr, as I've made a quite a few friends on there, plus I've been using it for free image hosting. lol Although, should this site get around to improving and expanding it's image hosting, that may become a game changer for me.

Glad to hear that Jack is doing better.

After my surgery a few years ago, although I've recovered physically, something went a little haywire with my nervous system, and I now have non-triggered anxiety. Perhaps I should be spending more time with my cats and the litter box, because I'd gladly trade in the anxiety for sexual arousal! ahahaha!

I actually had to use the friends page filter and select 'journals only' which I don't think I've ever had to not. Not that I'm the most regular user of Dreamwidth but its wonderful seeing the community grow. I find myself hoping everyone stays.

With Tumblr, I only friended a couple of people and I don't think anyone friended me, so honestly no-one will miss me. I just can't keep using a site that things queer lives are 'adult content' when my entire life is prety damn queer. I know where I'm not wanted!

Oh gosh, I hope I wasn't one of the people that didn't friend you back. I am so sorry if I was! I will always follow my mutuals that I communicate with from his site, or any other, back. Tumblr has never been a site where I've felt I can speak freely or do anything more than casually connect with people (I've been on there for 10 years and made like 5 friends?), so I rarely look at my activity/followers, except to block the spambots once in a while. Whoa, I haven't had that experience on tumblr - actually, more the opposite. A lot of anti-cis stuff on posts about equality and such. Like, if I'm not queer, I'm not welcome. That is something I really hate about that site - there are so many posts created to divide people, and loads of misinformation. Despite their rules against hate speech, I've never seen them act on it. I totally understand why you would delete your account. I would have to, if I had had your experience.

Will they also find that being around dogs is also corrupting, because dog people turn out to enjoy being dominants?

Oh, well perhaps that's why my husband is a switch - we've got both cats and dogs haha I'll start the study straight away, and disregard data that doesn't fit, like how I've always had cats, never had a dog til I met Jack and I'm dominant. ;)

LOL that's hilarious! From what I've heard that parasite mainly turn people into servants/slaves for cats. Which may or may not be a kink in and of itself. ;) But I was fascinated by ropes and whips and tying things up since I was like... 5. Pretty sure no parasite was responsible. Just me being born a horrible person, apparently :D
